Fru Fru Olypmics

  The Fru Fru Olympics

Arnika GOAL: I can sequence my ideas.

Isabel's goal: I am aware of how to write for an audience and I support the main idea with detail and comment.

Down in the forest where the flowers all bloomed, the trees all stood still as the animals watched the Fru Fru Olympics in the village of Fru Fru Trees . The wind whistled past as the sun beamed brightly on the athletes as they got ready to compete.

BANG went the gun and off went Mallon and Perky. Round the sanded race track. Mallon is coming first but Perky is annoyed so she catches up to Mallon and crosses the black and white checkered finish line. The creatures watching the olympics say that Perky crossed the finish line first but Mallon actually came first.  At the top of the coconut tree stood the small golden medal for Mallon, she raced to the tree and climbed as if she was rock climbing, Perky got there first oh no!!! Fighting at the top of the coconut tree Perky and Mallon fought over the golden medal. Until RRRRIP the medal ripped in half. Ending the fight Perky sliced the medal in half with her sharp shark fins.

After that they had a hour long rest for the next event. Waking up at 5:00 it was time to get started for the gymnastics tournament. First they ran wildly to the silver metal bars and did their astonishing flips and tricks!! The next thing they did was ball dancing the music struck up and the danced the night away.

It was time to go home and have a really long and nice sleep. Perky and Mallon woke up, the sun beams were shining through the open windows. Out of their bed they got, had breakfast and set off to the Fru Fru Olympics for the fifteenth day. Today was the final Perky will be in the swimming competition and Mallon will be in the gymnastics competition! GO Perky, Go Mallon! With all the cheering and all the strength Perky and Mallon won the prize. IT WAS THE GOLDEN TROPHY!!! Perky and Mallon stared up at the top of coconut tree there it stood the golden golden trophy.

It was time to find the big trophy Mallon found it first but then she heard Perky sneak up on her. She had a water mollon in her hand.  Mallon quickly ducked as she  turned around and she picked up a piece of fruit and threw it she quickly and ran up the tropical fruit tree. She said she won the trophy and it was so true. Perky was furious so she started to throw all sorts of tropical fruits. Mallon was proud of herself as she dodged the fruit that Perky was throwing. Mallon leaped of the tree and ran all the way to home in a dark and damp cave underground (with Perky following her of course.) Mallon had a trophy so Preky mined underground and made her own trophy with the gold she found. They all lived happily ever after.

Winter

Winter

I am aware of how to wright for an audience and to support the main idea with detail and comment.

Winter looks like starry snowflakes trickling down my back.
Winter sounds like rain pounding on the roof like a heart that never stops beating.
Winter tastes like hot chocolate and cakes straight from the oven.
Winter smells like smoke bursting through the chimney, from the flaming fire.
Winter feels like freezing cold snow freezing my hands off.

Giraffes Go Diving

Giraffes Go Diving

I am aware of how to wright for an audience and to support the main idea with detail and comment.
CLASS
I was quietly going about my daily job as a security guard at the Palace of Pools swimming complex, when I heard an unusual clip-clopping sound. The sound become louder and louder and got closer and closer. The strange noise sounded like animal hooves, but I felt confused because animals clearly don’t go swimming! What on earth could it be?
I turned towards the huge row of camera screens on the wall behind me. My eyes nearly popped out of my head like popcorn bursting out of the pot!  On the screen that showed the lower hallway, I saw not one, but several gigantic giraffes casually strolling along the corridor!!
I watched with amazement as these gentle giants made their way up the spiralling ramp. They paused for a moment at the top. I wondered what they were going to do next…...
                                                         ISABEL
A few seconds after they paused they went strolling again to the top of the spiraling ramp, up the top there was a silver gate to a springy diving board. They all lined up still in a spiral, it looked like a spiral of yellow with brown spots. Several more have had added to the line every time they all moved forward. The first giraffe opened the gate with its foot and nose, finally it got loose and opened. Then the giraffe got to the edge of the board. Then you heard Sproing Sproing Sproing! The giraffe leapt off the board and into the bubbling clear water, and the next giraffe did a forward flip before hitting the water with a big SPLASH. Lots of other giraffe did the same thing. SPLASH... SPLASH... SPLASH!
After the giraffes had four or five turns each they calmly climbed with their long skinny legs and ran back up the spiral ramp like a cat chasing its tail, back to the changing rooms. WOW what a sight that probably will never happen again.

My Wild Side

I chose the moth antennae because i like feathers.
I chose the African dog ears so I can hear well.
I chose the bush baby eyes so I can see in the dark.
I chose the shark fins so I can slice and dice.
I chose the bird legs so I can run very fast.
I chose the butterfly wings so I can fly high.

Luna Moth Antennae - How well do you smell? Your luna moth antennae are bushy because they have over 40,000 odor receptors. They help you detect the odors of other moths.

African wild dog ears - Your African wild dog ears are big so that they can give off heat and keep your body cool. That's good, because where African wild dogs live, it's hot.

Bush baby nocturnal eyes - How well do you see in the dark? Now you have your very own night vision goggles, courtesy of your bush baby eyes.

Nurse shark fins - You can use your nurse shark fins to rest in the shallow water during the day, so you're ready to hunt the sea floor at night. That means you're a nocturnal hunter.

California condor legs - Your California condor talons are blunt, unlike eagles who have sharp talons. That's because condors are scavengers. They don't need hooked claws to catch their prey. They just eat someone else's leftovers.

Monarch butterfly wings - Your monarch butterfly wings can beat five times per second. Can you flap your arms five times in one second?
