Term 1 Evaluation

Term 1 Evaluation

The two things this term I have enjoyed is camp because the activities were incredible and challenging and I completed one of my goals 'walk across the catwalk without falling off.' The other thing I enjoyed was Beach ED because I like hanging around on the beach and splashing around in the water.

The thing I have least enjoyed this term is Athletics because sprinting is not really my thing and it's tiring. It was like an oven it was boiling!!

The thing I learnt this term is to not give up and to work as a team. I learnt how to do 8's 7's and 4 times tables.

Next term I would like to learn is why do cats get angry so quickly? I want to learn this because I love animals!

Marae

                                                                      Marae

As we arrived a man called Greg greeted us as we were strolling to the gate, he told us to be quiet, so a hush fell over us. I wonder how they carve the statues? Finally we were karangaed on, we slowly shuffled through the door we had to do something called a hongi*
Through the day we learnt about Maori culture, also we split into groups for activities such as flax weaving and learning legends.
This is what I had learnt:

1. Maori don't pronounce the 'h'
2. Moari only have 16 letters in the alphabet
3. Whakahururangi (the Marae) is the first Marae between Mt Taranaki and Mt Tongario!

I had an enjoyable and incredible day.

* A hongi is a Maori way to welcome visitors.

Athletics Day

High jump.
"Ready when you are" Mrs Stark told me I started scurrying and then leap, over I go, could I do it, could I? Just as I landed on the spongy blue mat my foot knocked the pole!!Oh No but Mrs Stark told me to go again and that time I hurtled myself over. After about three rounds the chairs were taken for 1st 2nd and 3rd, I had come fourth I'm so so so proud of my self (I had a huge smile on my face.)

Emma: Next time you should use some more punctuation and exiting words.
I like the way you used the way scurrying instead of running and "I landed on the spongy blue mat". GREAT JOD:)

Aylah: Next time you could add a bit about what high jump is because some people may not know what it is. I like how you put scurrying and I like how you put how you were feeling.
good job Isabel

Courtney: I liked the way you used punctuation. Next time you should re read it.
I like the way you hooked the reader in.
